SHAKESPEARE SCHOOL TOURS

Each year The Acting Company produces a new Shakespeare production to tour through New York City’s middle and high schools. Although truncated, these productions use Shakespeare’s original language in conjunction with music, dance, song, and remarkable acting to engage students of all ages. Each performance includes a post-show discussion with the performers and is accompanied by our signature education programs: Learning Through Theater and Shakespeare for Teachers.

Each year this program expands, playing for more dates and for more students. If you would like to see if we can bring our next production to your school, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

2026 Spring Shakespeare School Tour

Hamlet in a modern verse translation by Lisa Peterson

directed by Chika Ike

Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy, Hamlet, is brought to vivid new life in a spare production that focuses on the actor and the language.  High-energy performances, simple and bold design, and a modern verse translation make this a production that brings audiences into Hamlet’s struggle with grief and vengeance in the wake of his father’s murder.  Chika Ike interprets Lisa Peterson’s 75-minute script to engage and inspire audience members across New York City.
