The second reading of this season’s Acting Company John McDonald Salon Reading Series will take place Monday, February 22: Present Laughter by Noel Coward, featuring Kevin Kline and other cast members to be named soon.

Coward’s 1939 comic play follows a few days in the life of the successful and self-obsessed light comedy actor Garry Essendine as he prepares to travel for a touring commitment in Africa. November 9th was the date and Capitale was the place to be as The Acting Company saluted Acting Company Co-Founder and Producer MARGOT HARLEY who is stepping down after 43 years of leadership and honored PAUL and TOM FONTANA with Joan Warburg Humanitarian Awards.

Margot Harley was saluted by Acting Company Alumni Actors and noted Broadway director Jack O’Brien for her extraordinary leadership of The Acting Company for the past 43 years.

MARGOT HARLEY TO STEP DOWN AFTER 43 YEARS

Margot Harley, who cofounded The Acting Company with John Houseman in 1972, will step down as its Producer effective the end of this year. The Acting Company began with the first graduating class of Juilliard’s Drama Division, which included Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers. “They were classically trained, superbly talented and had worked together for four years,” stated Ms. Harley.
