The touring classical theatre company will present a full season in New York City.

Touring classical theatre company The Acting Company has announced its 2017–2018 season, which will include a full season in New York City. The lineup includes a return of Marcus Gardley’s play X: Or, Betty Shabazz v. The Nation, which played an acclaimed Off-Broadway run earlier this year.

MARGOT HARLEY TO STEP DOWN AFTER 43 YEARS

Margot Harley, who cofounded The Acting Company with John Houseman in 1972, will step down as its Producer effective the end of this year. The Acting Company began with the first graduating class of Juilliard’s Drama Division, which included Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers. “They were classically trained, superbly talented and had worked together for four years,” stated Ms. Harley.

ON STAGE ACROSS AMERICA

Time Warner’s NY1 produced a short piece about The Acting Company’s national tour for their new program On Stage Across America, a monthly TV show dedicated to the vast array of American theater including Broadway, Touring Broadway, Regional Theater and local High School productions from across the country.
