Touring classical theatre company The Acting Company has announced its 2017–2018 season, which will include a full season in New York City. The lineup includes a return of Marcus Gardley’s play X: Or, Betty Shabazz v. The Nation, which played an acclaimed Off-Broadway run earlier this year.

The Acting Company has commissioned Pulitzer Prize-winner Beth Henley and Tony-winner John Guare along with Elizabeth Egloff, Marcus Gardley, Rebecca Gilman and David Grimm to celebrate one of America’s greatest wordsmiths. Desire is certain to be a classic for the 21st Century, keeping Tennessee Williams’ words alive and introducing him to new audiences.
