The Acting Company has commissioned Pulitzer Prize-winner Beth Henley and Tony-winner John Guare along with Elizabeth Egloff, Marcus Gardley, Rebecca Gilman and David Grimm to celebrate one of America’s greatest wordsmiths. Desire is certain to be a classic for the 21st Century, keeping Tennessee Williams’ words alive and introducing him to new audiences. Depicting love and innocence, isolation and loss, these unforgettable tales serve as a reminder that great stories have the power to change one’s life. 2014-15 SEASON – OUR 42ND!

MARK TWAIN’S A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR’S COURT, a newly commissioned play by JEFFREY HATCHER, and SHAKESPEARE’S MACBETH comprise the 42nd Season of The Acting Company productions presented in residency at Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater, in New York at the Pearl Theatre (March 31-April 12, tickets now on sale), and on national tour. Acting Company Artistic Director IAN BELKNAP will direct Connecticut Yankee; DEVIN BRAIN directs Macbeth.
