Across the City and the country

We offer educational opportunities including hands-on workshops and week-long in-school residencies.

Our award-winning Learning Through Theater curriculum incorporates the drama-based exploration of language, literature, design, and acting. Company Alumni Teaching Artists use a variety of teaching techniques, highlighting the collaborative nature of the theater. Students read, write, improvise, and play with language throughout the spring semster.

The Acting Company develops emerging actors by touring theater coast-to-coast.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENTS

The Acting Company is first and foremost a Company, one comprised of all the performers both past and present. Beyond that, we are a cultural institution, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the social good. We believe that these are important responsibilities, that we have an obligation to support and protect our members, and to champion their views in the larger world.

Support the Company

For 50 years, The Acting Company has remained committed to its founding mission to develop excellent young actors by producing a mix of classical and new plays on tour and in New York City. Make a tax-deductible gift today to propel the Company into the next half-century of bringing theater to audiences across America.

THE ACTING COMPANY

The Acting Company is the only professional theater dedicated to the development of young actors founded in 1972. Through its national touring repertories of classic and new plays, the Company has given two generations of recent drama school graduates the opportunity to hone their craft in challenging roles while bringing theater to small towns and major cities alike.
